For last few weeks of the third quarter, we as a class have learned some noteworthy materials about social networking tools. As we started off the topic, there had been a lot of concerns from my teacher if we could get the devices work properly. The concern had appeared true, and we perhaps have wasted more than a one full period to simply install hardware for a social networking program called a skype, and the debate that we had on the skype didn’t go that well neither. However, as in old saying, we learn something off from adversities; through the hardship we learned how to set devices properly, etc. We are now up to the next level where most of our concerns are centered on ‘software issues’. The debate was failure however, or for me it was. I wasn’t even prepared for the debate due to a huge pile of homework precariously stacked on my desk, and homework were to be finished by the night after. Over the spring break, we’ve made some examples for the VODcast. It was okay.

For this week, I’ve taken a test on RSS which was awfully difficult because the questions were asked in very specific manner. Despite the fact that I had hard time getting through the test, the outcome was solid which made feel ambiguous whether to be happy or not.
On Friday, I took a typing test and I received 96 WPM with one mistake which I think is not bad. Nevertheless, this week had been progressive and it’s perhaps because we’ve had hardships through installing the right instruments for VOIP, or social networking.

What RSS does is deliver posts from the other websites to the one single webpage. So it’s a lot simpler especially when you’re in the situation where you have to go around all different websites to check out others’ blogs or etc. It is also easy-setup so even puppies would be able to do it.

RSS feed makes the internet a lot quicker and easier for me because everything shows up at once in one screen and I don’t have to circumnavigate every single web pages to check out just a small information. Every time I get on computer the first thing I do is get on my IGoogle which is pretty much like the RSS readers and then look up what’s been newly posted and then just click on one of those that hooks my interest.

Overall, Podcast project was a great experience for me to learn more about ‘Web World’. Honestly, I have once hated doing blogs or putting up personal stuff on internet because I felt that doing such things is time-waste and somehow dangerous. Especially doing podcast frustrated and abashed me that I was so tempted to put my podcast on my blog because after hearing my voice people would be sneering at me and would leave some impertinent comments. Furthermore, I was under a lot of pressure because of my parents, who had been watching at me working on computer with suspicious eyes thinking as if I was playing tricks on them to avoid doing tens of SAT WORKS. However, I was successful progressing myself towards homework completion nevertheless all the impediments that’s been put on me. And my biggest achievement after all is that now my parents understand that I need my personal internet access which they both concurred to provide it for me after moving to our new home which is going to happen within 3 months.

My feedback which I’d rather call it ‘a hope’ for this class is to work more on ‘Programming’. Although web stuff is a lot of fun, I have a hope to get something done on programming as well.
